Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using ChatMate, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

ChatMate is an AI-powered companion chat application. The AI character (Luna) is entirely fictional. Conversations are for entertainment and emotional support purposes only. ChatMate is not a substitute for professional mental health services.

3. Subscriptions & Payment

  • Free tier: limited to a set number of messages per account.
  • Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance via Stripe.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • You may cancel anytime from your Stripe billing portal. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • All prices are displayed in USD and are inclusive of applicable taxes where required.

4. Refund Policy

We offer a 24-hour money-back guarantee for first-time subscribers only. If this is your first subscription to ChatMate, you may request a full refund within 24 hours of your initial payment by contacting us at wenhuazang@gmail.com or through the Stripe Customer Portal (Settings → Manage Subscription). Subscription renewals and repeat subscriptions are non-refundable, except where required by law. Refund requests after 24 hours or from returning subscribers will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the service to generate harmful, illegal, or abusive content.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the API.
  • Share your account credentials with others.
  • Use the service if you are under 13 years of age.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and code of ChatMate remain the property of ChatMate. You retain ownership of content you share in conversations; by using the service, you grant us a limited license to process that content to deliver the service.

7. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability to you in any month shall not exceed the amount you paid us in that month.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms without refund. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which ChatMate operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
